When Rivers Were Trails was released today for play on PC and Mac for FREE! This 2D adventure game is set in 1890 and designed to teach players about the impact of the allotment acts on Native peoples. The game was made in collaboration with Michigan State University’s Games for Entertainment and Learning Lab and the Indian Land Tenure Foundation.
Featuring art by Weshoyot Alvitre, music by Supaman and Michael LaughingFox Charette, and stories from OVER 20 of Indian Country’s most captivating storytellers including Lee Francis, Adrian Jawort, Allen Turner, Trevino Brings Plenty, Sheena Roetman and many more, When Rivers Were Trails is a monumental achievement for Indigenous gaming.
